ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Rochester man accused of attempted murder is back in the United States after he was arrested in Uganda. Officials announced on Tuesday that David Johnson, 50, was wanted by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office for allegedly lighting his wife on fire during what authorities called a domestic dispute back in 2019.
On Aug. 30, 2019, on Augustine Street in Rochester, Johnson poured flammable liquid around the house and on his wife while threatening to kill her, before lighting her on fire and leaving the scene, the U.S. Marshals Service stated Tuesday. The victim was left with severe injuries in the aftermath.
