As we slide deeper into winter, temperatures drop and snow tends to pile up. But behind the scenes, there are changes already happening in support of spring not being that far away. Rochester's daylight has been steadily increasing since the winter solstice just before Christmas. We're now gaining more than a minute and a half of fresh daylight each day. That reality is reflected in the fact tonight was our last pre-5pm sunset of winter. We'll hit 5pm on the money Wednesday. In 46 days, we cross 6pm. Only ~a week after that, we cross 7pm (the result of the time change) with 8pm sunset returning in around 3 months. I know 5pm is still early, but I thought you could use the nugget of optimism!
