CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Clovis Police Officer was involved in a crash Tuesday morning after a vehicle ran a red light, according to the Clovis Police Department.
Police say an officer was responding to a call for a possible DUI driver in the area of Shaw and Leonard avenues around 11:30 a.m.
Investigators say the responding officer was traveling eastbound on Shaw Avenue on a green light without lights or sirens on. That's when an uninvolved driver was going southbound on DeWolf Avenue. Police say he was distracted while talking to his passenger and struck the officer's vehicle.
The officer was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The other driver is cooperative, according to police.
