Local man robbed at gunpoint, Shawnee County deputies arrest two

SHAWNEE COUNTY (KSNT) - Sheriff's deputies in Shawnee County arrested two people following an armed robbery on Monday.
The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office announced on Jan. 14 that it was called around 9:15 p.m. on Jan. 13 to the 6500 block of Northwest Elmont Road on reports of a medical emergency. Deputies arriving in the area found an armed robbery had taken place where a 61-year-old man had his vehicle and money taken from him.

Deputies later arrested a 36-year-old from Topeka and 31-year-old from Junction City in connection to the incident. Their charges include the following:
36-year-old
Aggravated robbery.
Aggravated assault.
Criminal trespass.
Theft.
Theft of a motor vehicle.
Criminal possession of a weapon by a felon.
Possession of an opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant.
31-year-old
Possession of an opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant.
Possession of stolen property; firearm.
Possession of stolen property.
Use/possess with intent to use drug paraphernalia.
