A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. for snow showers until 7:45 p.m. for Tompkins and Cortland counties."Scattered to numerous snow showers will affect the Finger Lakes region of central NY and the Twin Tier Region of NY and PA early this evening. The snow showers will produce a brief period of heavy snow, reduced visibilities and a quick 1/2 inch of snow. Expect the snow showers to taper off between 8 pm and 11 pm this evening. Roads could become slippery with reduced visibilities leading to hazardous travel this evening," states the weather service.
