ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The University of New Mexico has added an FCS opponent to its 2026 football schedule. Mercyhurst is now set to play the Lobos at University Stadium on September 12. Located in Erie, PA, Mercyhurst plays in the Northeast Conference. It will be the first-ever matchup between the two schools. In addition to Mercyhurst, New Mexico State and Oklahoma are currently on UNM's 2026 non-conference schedule. New Mexico is also slated to play Air Force, Hawai'i, Nevada, Northern Illinois, San Jose State, UNLV, UTEP and Wyoming.
