Which one stumped Virginians the most in 2024? Unscrambler.com -- a platform that can help you unscramble words when solving Scrabble, Wordle or other puzzles -- took a look at Google search data across 2024 to find out which Wordles had players searching "Wordle hint" the most. Across America, the most difficult Wordle of 2024 was "DECAL" on May 5, 2024. Virginia was among a total of 13 states whose residents had the hardest time solving "JOLLY" on April 21, 2024. Virginians searched "Wordle hint" about 19,774 times. A spokesperson for Unscrambler.com said Americans are 10 times more likely to search "Wordle hint" than "Wordle solver," proving that players overwhelmingly prefer to solve the puzzle themselves rather than just plug in the correct answer. "Nobody wants to break their streak of consecutive wins," the spokesperson said. "However, getting a hint when stuck helps to solve the word puzzle yourself. Solving a tough puzzle yourself is the most fun. Even Wordle cheaters know this." 2024 Wordles that proved too much for other states included the likes of "BEVEL," "BUDDY" and "BRAWN."
