Easton Police says teenage girl hospitalized with ‘serious’ injuries after shooting

EASTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Easton Police Department said a teenager was hospitalized with “serious” injuries after a shooting at an apartment complex on Tuesday afternoon.
Around 2:30 p.m., Easton police went to the Avalon Complex on Robert Drive for reports of a shooting.
At the scene, officers found a teenage girl suffering from a gunshot wound, according to Easton police.
First responders transported the juvenile victim to Good Samaritan Hospital, who was then taken to a Boston hospital via MedFlight with “serious, life-threatening” injuries.
Officials said the suspects fled the scene before the police arrived.
The Easton Police Department said it believes this is an isolated incident and does not pose a threat to the public.
Additionally, police said the area is expected to have an increased police presence while investigators are on scene.
Massachusetts State Police and the Easton Police Department are investigating the shooting.
