SCITUATE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Scituate Police Department is mourning the sudden loss of a longtime sergeant. Scituate Police Chief Eric Rollinson said Sgt. Jason Riquier passed away on Monday. Riquier worked for the Scituate Police Department for 23 years and was a United States Marine Corps veteran, according to Rollinson. "We are all struggling with the tragic loss of Sgt. Riquier, who was a valued and respected member of our Scituate Police family," Rollinson said in a statement. "We want to thank our community, and our law enforcement partners across the state for the support they have offered our department and Sgt. Riquier's family during this time." The circumstances surrounding Riquier's death remain unclear at this time. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox. Subscribe Now Daily Roundup SIGN UP NOW
