DEL CITY, Okla. (KFOR) - Del City Police say a suspect has been arrested after a man was hit by a car on his motorcycle.
"It felt like a relief, a weight off my shoulders. Like, that guy's off the streets and not going to hit somebody else," said Dusty Cortez.
Cortez can breathe more easily knowing Del City Police arrested a man he believes hit him deliberately with his car. It happened while Cortez was riding his brand new street-legal dirt bike.
"Just got the sticker, the tag, stuck it on and two weeks later boom," said Cortez, when News 4 first interviewed him on Monday.

A day earlier, on Sunday, Cortez was sitting at a red light, near Southeast 44th and Bryant, when a silver SUV came up behind him.
"The moment the light turned green he just gassed it through me," said Cortez. "It felt like I was thrown that way a good 12 foot."
Oddly enough, Cortez is lucky he was thrown, because the driver kept going taking the bike along with it.
Somehow, Cortez was still able to memorize the suspect's license plate. Police said it was registered to a 1996 Isuzu Rodeo.
"We know who it's registered to, we have to confirm they were actually in possession of the vehicle," said Chief Lloyd Berger.
A few hours after our news story aired, Cortez got a call from a man who thought he could help track down the driver. He heard information through the grapevine.
"Someone picked up on it, then someone picked up on it, and it got to him. And he’s like, ‘You know what? I just saw this on the news. That seemed pretty messed up and I’m going to get ahold of these people.' And that’s what he did," said Cortez.

The helpful caller identified the driver as Alexander Bundrant, 21, and that's exactly who police ended up arrested after Cortez called police.
"A few hours later I got a call saying that the guy was caught," said Cortez.
According to online court records, Bundrant has tickets for speeding, not wearing a seatbelt, and not providing proof of insurance, all within the past few years.
Meanwhile, Cortez is just thankful to the man who reached out.
"I hope he sees this. Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you," said Cortez.
