New Orleans drug bust leads to four arrests

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Four people were arrested after a drug bust in New Orleans on Saturday, Jan. 11.
The New Orleans Police Department reported that officers responded to a report of trespassing at an apartment in the 1700 block of Gentilly Boulevard on Saturday, where officers say they found methamphetamine, methamphetamine packaging and paraphernalia.

In a search of the apartment, NOPD detectives said they recovered 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine, 16 grams of marijuana, 10.3 grams of psilocybin (mushrooms), 44 grams of cocaine, $2,015 in cash, an AR-15 rifle, a Mossberg rifle, a shotgun and "several items of drug packaging and drug paraphernalia.

Following the search, police arrested 40-year-old Brandon Boyer, 42-year-old Marc McNiz, 41-year-old Chivon Haynes and 30-year-old Hillary Morse.
NOPD officials said Boyer, McNiz, Haynes and Morse each face charges of possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of psilocybin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of firearm with controlled dangerous substances.
