Pearl City High campus closed today, crash leaves Waiau area without power

HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Pearl City High School will be closed to students and faculty Tuesday, Jan. 14, due to a power outage impacting campus operations.

Power is not expected to be restored for several hours and the school is unable to provide student meal service without electricity.
Nurses’ strike is on at Wilcox Medical Center
The school is notifying staff and students' families.
At this time all other HIDOE schools remain open as scheduled.
The outage is said to be from a car crash that happened around 6:30 a.m.
About 910 customers are without power in the Waiau area since the morning.
