Justin Todd providing spark in middle for UH volleyball

The fourth-ranked University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team will close out its season-opening six-match homestand with a pair of matches against Princeton on Wednesday and Friday nights at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The Rainbow Warriors, now 4-0, have been boosted by the versatility of Justin Todd, a Moanalua graduate who redshirted in 2024. Todd made the transition from outside hitter to middle blocker and has quickly made an impact, leading the team with 12 blocks and adding nine kills in eight sets.
Reflecting on his readiness, Todd said:
“Last year, I watched every game to see how I’d conduct myself on the court. That really helped me feel more prepared when my time came.”
Todd, a 2023 AVCA First Team All-American and VolleyballMag.com Boys Fab 50 selection, transferred to Moanalua High School from Ridge Point High School in Houston, Texas. His redshirt season allowed for significant development, and head coach Charlie Wade said the 6-foot-8 athlete has the potential to be a game-changer.
“He has such a high ceiling,” Wade said. “He wasn’t in the top four as an outside hitter or top two as an opposite, but moving him to the middle created an instant pathway to get him on the court. He’s evolving quickly, and with his size and a jump touch of 12 feet, he’s a great option when we need him.”
