Elaina's Experiments: 2025 Kern County Science Fair seeking judges, project ideas

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Science Fair is coming up March 11, and the event is seeking judges to help choose this year's winners, according to Michelle Roy, Science Coordinator for the Kern County Superintendent of Schools.
Students have until Jan. 24. to register for the 2025 Science Fair at Mechanics Bank Convention Center. The event is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In order to have the fair run smoothly, around 200 to 250 volunteers are needed to help judge, support and encourage the next generation of thinkers, dreamers, and problem-solvers, Roy said during her interview.
What's required to be a judge:
You don't need to be a STEM expert. All you need is a willingness to listen to students, ask questions, and cheer them on.
Whether you're a STEM professional, teacher, or simply someone who loves supporting young learners, we'd love to have you.
