There is no science to business forecasting, no common set of expectations or tools. Usually, the best you can hope for is to not be outrageously wrong. It's a low bar, and even then business forecasters rarely meet it. Or have you forgotten that recession that just didn't happen? At least we were widely warned about the collapse of the housing market in 2008. Oh, right. We weren't.
