(KRON) – A man with more than $40,000 worth of warrants was arrested for stealing at a Colma store, according to the Colma Police Department.
Colma police officers responded to the 5000 block of Junipero Serra Boulevard for the report of a theft at 8:16 p.m. on Thursday.
Police were informed that a man stole multiple backpacks and was attempting to leave the store. The suspect, later identified as 45-year-old Alex Anderson, was contacted by the responding officers and decided to drop the stolen merchandise and flee the scene.
Colma PD said Anderson fled eastbound through multiple businesses on Serramonte Boulevard causing the officers to lose sight of him.
