Crews extinguish structure fire in southeast Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in southeast Albuquerque around 2:18 a.m. Tuesday morning.

AFR says crews were dispatched to the 200 block of Kathryn Ave. SE for reports of a fire at a single-family structure. AFR crews arrived on scene and reported the building was abandoned and boarded up, with smoke coming from the front of the building. The fire was brought under control within 18 minutes and no civilians or firefighters were injured. AFR fire investigators classified the cause of the fire as undetermined. They say it's believed this was a warming fire that got out of control.
