THIS VIDEO shows Victor holding a call phone and filming his warm up back when he was a teen in France. It offers a particular insight into how his height and agility was a factor and defined his game at an early age. Another more recent VIDEO shows Wemby warming up now as a member of the San Antonio Spurs. With the competition level of the modern NBA, Victor has had to prepare for the physicality of being defended by larger, stronger players, sometimes two at a time. Wemby’s height makes his dribble a liability. As we saw when the Spurs played the Nuggets, Russell Westbrook often doubled up on Victor and disrupted his flow, stealing or swatting loose the ball on multiple occasions. Wembanyama also has a shooting regiment that prepares him for those long range threes, a facet to his game that continues to grow, ever making him an even greater threat to take over as the face of the NBA.
