BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A New York resident was sentenced Monday in Boston federal court for his actions in a drug trafficking operation that shipped dozens of packages of cocaine from Puerto Rico to addresses in Rhode Island and Eastern Massachusetts.
Felix Baez Munoz, 35, was sentenced to 46 months in prison after pleading guilty in September of 2024 to one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute cocaine.
Baez Munoz mailed packages containing cocaine that was typically hidden in everyday items such as air fryers, according to Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s Office.
These packages would be addressed to various addresses in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
He was seen by federal agents in May of 2020 transporting a duffle bag from Massachusetts to New York.
Federal agents stopped him in New York, and Baez Munoz consented to a search of the bag, which was revealed to contain $387,030 of suspected drug proceeds.
