LINCOLN–(KFOR Jan. 14)–The Broadcasters Unite for Life Winter Blood Drive is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday inside the Havelock United Methodist Church off of 60th and Morrill. KFOR, sister station KX 96.9 and our media partner, 10/11 News, are teaming up to help benefit the Nebraska Community Blood Bank.  Kari Lundeen is with the NCBB and told Lincoln’s Morning News on KFOR Tuesday, the need for blood is every single day. “It doesn’t take a holiday.  It doesn’t care what the weather is.  That’s just another important factor for blood donors in Nebraska,” she said. Lundeen adds every single blood type is needed. “Your specific blood type might be needed in a very specific way,” she said.  “If you are an AB positive, which is a very rare blood type (only three percent of the population is AB positive), but you are a perfect candidate to donate platelets.” There will be free Chick-Fil-A sandwiches and a Broadcasters Unite For Life shirt for you, after you donate.  There are 20 spots open for Wednesday and more available on Thursday.  Click the link below to donate.
