LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Urban County Council members in Lexington are set to hold their first official meetings of the new session Tuesday following Sunday’s swearing-in of new representatives. According to CivicLex,  meetings will include a presentation on the final plan for the Urban Service Boundary and an update on a state House bill passed last year, which could impact development projects starting in July. Additionally, several committees are expected to elect their chairs and vice chairs as part of the new session’s proceedings. The council’s leadership is also anticipated to announce the creation of a new street safety task force Tuesday, aimed at addressing traffic safety concerns across the city. Meetings will continue throughout the day as council members set their agenda for the upcoming year.
