KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police are investigating after a man was found dead inside a car in a southeast Kansas City neighborhood, the Kansas City Police Department said. According to KCPD, just before 12:15 a.m., officers were patrolling the area of East 30th Street and Indiana Avenue, located a few blocks north of Linwood Boulevard, when they saw a car stopped in the road and facing oncoming traffic. Kansas City fire department responds to overnight apartment fire Officers then decided to check the car and see if any people were inside. They reported that as they approached the car, a man was found unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency personnel were called to the scene and declared the man dead, KCPD reported. Police are investigating this case as a homicide and are working to determine what led up to the shooting. KCPD said there are currently no suspects in custody.
