KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police are investigating after a man was found dead inside a car in a southeast Kansas City neighborhood, the Kansas City Police Department said. According to KCPD, just before 12:15 a.m., officers were patrolling the area of East 30th Street and Indiana Avenue, located a few blocks north of Linwood Boulevard, when they saw a car stopped in the road and facing oncoming traffic. They reported that as they approached the car, a man was found unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency personnel were called to the scene and declared the man dead, KCPD reported. Police are investigating this case as a homicide and are working to determine what led up to the shooting. KCPD said there are currently no suspects in custody.
