Crews are working at the intersection of East 10th Street and Emerson Avenue in regards to a water main break. Officials from Citizens Energy have not determined what caused the main break.
According to crews on the scene, the break is causing traffic delays in the area.
In an update from Citizens Energy, officials said that the water main break occurred at around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday and resulted in a cave-in of the roadway. As part of the response, crews requested a salt truck to respond and prepare the roadways against freezing.
Crews have isolated the main break, including closing valves on either side, to complete the repair. Water service may be temporarily off to homes around the area. The repair of the main line is expected within six hours and the roadway will also be restored.
A lane restriction is in place along northbound Emerson Avenue. Officials with Citizens Energy asked drivers to drive with caution in the area.
