GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — One lucky Greensboro woman got the birthday gift of a lifetime this holiday season. Janice Gibbs, of Greensboro, bought her winning ticket at the Fairway One Stop on South Elm-Eugene Street in Greensboro. The ticket matched all five numbers in the Dec. 23 drawing winning her a $110,000 Cash 5 jackpot. “I checked it and I knew right away that I won,” Gibbs recalled. “It was an unexpected blessing.” She says she knew she would win because chose her own numbers based on family birthdays for the drawing. Gibbs claimed her prize on Monday at lottery headquarters and walked away with $78,929 after taxes. She says she plans to do something special for herself with her winnings.
