WARSAW, N.C. (WNCT) — A Wilmington man and woman have been charged in connection to a child abduction case that spanned multiple counties.
Larnell Simpson, 45, and Victoria Corey, 25, were arrested in Duplin County and are being jailed without bond at the New Hanover County Detention Center.
They both face charges of first-degree kidnapping and felony child abuse. A judge ordered custody of the child to be transferred to the Department of Social Services due to concerns raised by medical professionals and DSS.
Instead of complying, law enforcement said Simpson and Corey left with the child. They were arrested on Interstate 40 in Duplin County by officers with the Warsaw Police Department.
