AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Austin police identified the person who died in the city's first fatal crash of 2025. The Austin Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 11800 block of Research Boulevard shortly before 1 a.m. on Jan. 10. PREVIOUS: Man dies in single-vehicle crash on Research Boulevard at Duval Road APD said a man hit a barrier in the area and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. APD identified him as Anthony David Jones, 36. This incident is being investigated as Austin’s first fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 1 fatality.
