Jan 14, 2025
LIBERTY HILL, Texas (KXAN) — Williamson County shoppers may have a new place to buy bulk groceries and $1.50 hot dogs.
A new Costco Wholesale store is in the works in Liberty Hill, according to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation project plans filed Monday. The store will be at the intersection of U.S. Highway 183 and Seward Junction Loop, which is south of State Highway 29.
The estimated $62.6 million store will span about 160,000 square feet. In addition to the store, a fuel facility will also be built.
Project timeline estimates, which are subject to change, show construction will start in May and finish in November.

Costco said it cannot comment on a new location unless it is opening soon. The wholesale company has two Texas stores opening in March in Propser and Weatherford.
An economic development agreement between the city and Costco is in negotiations, according to Christian Kurtz, the director of economic development.
This isn't the only major retailer looking to establish roots in Liberty Hill. A Target store is planned near U.S. Highway 183 and State Highway 29, and an H-E-B store opened near Liberty Hill in 2021 on Ronald Reagan Boulevard.
