SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Authorities on Monday evening are investigating a deadly shooting involving officers inside an apartment building in the East Village neighborhood. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. at the Broadway Towers in the 1100 block of E Street, the San Diego County Sherriff's Department confirmed to FOX 5/KUSI. San Diego police officers responded to a report of a suicidal man. While escorting six people out of the apartment building, the 26-year-old man armed with a knife confronted the officers, Lt. Mike Krugh with SDSO said. That's when two officers shot the suspect. Red Flag Warning issued for San Diego County amid more Santa Ana winds; thousands could have power shut off The suspect was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries. No officers were hurt in the shooting. The area is under investigation at this time.
