Man hit, killed by vehicle in South Bay

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A man was hit and killed by a vehicle Monday in Chula Vista, authorities said.
The crash occurred around 7:55 a.m. at the alley north of 517 H Street, between Fifth Avenue and Smith Avenue, said Sgt. Anthony Molina with the Chula Vista Police Department.
When authorities responded to the scene, they found the pedestrian, a 59-year-old Chula Vista man, with major injuries.
He was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries, according to law enforcement.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
Investigators do not believe alcohol to be a factor in the crash.
