RANCHO SAN DIEGO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A driver was killed in a head-on crash Sunday in the Rancho San Diego area. The collision occurred around 12:10 a.m. on Willow Glen Drive at West Village Drive, Officer Jasmine Lopez with California Highway Patrol said in a news release Monday. Man armed with knife shot by officers A 30-year-old man was driving a 2004 Ford Focus northbound on Willow Glen Drive when for reasons unknown the driver veered towards the left, crossed over the solid, double-yellow lines and crashed head-on into a 2013 Subaru Outback driven by a 25-year-old woman, according to authorities. The man, of San Diego, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman, of Imperial Beach, was taken to a hospital with major injuries. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
