LAWRENCE — The Lawrence Township Board of Education appointed Neel Desai as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction at its January 2 meeting. Desai will start on March 10, 2025. Desai brings 25 years of public education experience to the role. He earned a Master of Education from Rutgers Graduate School of Education and administration certificates from the NJEXCEL/FEA Leadership Program. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Exercise Science & Sports Studies. His career includes positions as elementary school teacher, vice principal, principal, and director in multiple New Jersey school districts. Desai leads workshops for the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association, New Jersey Department of Education, and New Jersey Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. He mentors new administrators through the New Jersey Leader-2-Leader program and trains future school leaders in the NJEXCEL Leadership Program.
