MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Four people are in the hospital including two Memphis Police Officers after an overnight car crash on Interstate I-240 E and Shady Grove. Officers say they responded to a hit-and-run crash at I-240 E and Shady Grove just before 12:50 a.m. While police were assisting with the crash, a white Tahoe entered the initial crash scene minutes later. (Photos by: WREG's Quintin Bearkley) The Tahoe hit the responding officers’ squad car which caused it to hit the two officers who were outside their vehicle conducting the hit-and-run investigation. Both MPD officers were then taken to the hospital in non-critical condition. The driver of the Tahoe was detained at that time and taken to Regional One Hospital in non-critical condition. The male victim of the initial hit-and-run investigation was also taken to the hospital in a non-critical condition. No charges have been filed at this time, but this is still an ongoing investigation. WREG is working to gather more information and will provide updates as they become available.
