Santa Rosa police search for man who followed girls leaving school

(KRON) -- The Santa Rosa Police Department is searching for a man who followed a group of girls as they were leaving school on Friday.
"Numerous" citizens called police to report seeing a man following girls in the area of Lemur Street and Providence Court at about 4:30 p.m., police said. The man reportedly drove in reverse against traffic to stay in the girls' path.

Police said he used hand gestures to get the girls' attention, at one point appearing to invite them into his car. He played pop music loudly in an attempt to "entice" them, police said. He did not speak to them.
The suspect was described as a white man with light brown hair and a beard. He is estimated to be about 25 years old, 5-foot-5 and 120-130 pounds.
The car that the man was driving is a black, four-door 2008 Jeep Cherokee. It had damage to its back left quarter panel.
