SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Surveillance video from a home in Springfield has captured a series of car break-ins that occurred early Monday morning on Price Street. Just after 4 a.m. Monday, the footage shows three individuals jumping out of a vehicle and targeting parked cars in the driveways. One suspect was seen wearing a mask as they were illuminated by a motion-sensor light. Moments later, they broke into a black Chevrolet. The suspects then moved across the street, where another motion-sensor light revealed them breaking into a second car. A third car was targeted, turned on, and the trio drove away with another vehicle appearing to follow them. Matt Cincotta, is one of the owners of one of the vehicles broken into. He told 22News, "If you don't lock your car, something must go through the air because they pick that up and they are just on to it." He added that Price Street is usually quiet but has been targeted before, and this is the second time his car has been broken into. "The scary thing is how close they come to your steps and these guys were just operating with impunity." Cincotta's neighbor, who goes by the name Vega, is the owner of the stolen vehicle. Vega shared that her baby was sick with a fever on Monday, and she was supposed to take them to the doctor that morning. However, she discovered that her car was missing. She told 22News that she was outraged. "You have to take it minute by minute," Vega said, "but hope for the best that the vehicle does return, and in the right shape." Both Vega and Cincotta have contacted the Springfield Police Department regarding the break-ins. 22News is awaiting an official statement from the department on the incident.
