SAN JACINTO — A man died from “significant injuries” and a boy suffered a gunshot wound in a San Jacinto assault, authorities said Monday. Deputies were called at 1:11 a.m. Sunday to a residential area in the 1800 block of Normandy Court on multiple reports of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Lance Stoyer. The scene is west of Meridian Street and south of Washington Avenue. “Deputies arrived at a residence and located a male adult on the ground suffering from significant injuries,” Stoyer said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of relatives. The boy arrived at a hospital shortly thereafter and received treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, the sergeant said. “Investigators determined that this second victim was injured during the incident on Normandy Court,” Stoyer said. Suspect information was not available, Stoyer said.
