NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Health Department has announced the launch of a new map that aims to help improve access to Misoprostol.
NOHD officials said the map will show pharmacies in Orleans Parish that have Misoprostol in stock to help healthcare providers find locations near them to offer timely access to the medication and minimize delays.

According to the NOHD, Misoprostol is often prescribed for "conditions such as miscarriage, IUD insertion and other women’s health procedures."
NOHD officials said the map is part of an initiative to improve access to the medication and follows the Louisiana Legislature's move to categorize it as a Schedule IV controlled substance.
