Lexington’s Division of Waste Management is offering disposal options for debris following last week’s winter storm. Tree branches and other yard waste can be left at the curb to be picked up for Lexingtonians with curbside waste collection. The city recommends waste be placed between the sidewalk and curb. The city says its limit is 12 feet of debris per person, with tree branches and trunks having a limit of 16 inches in diameter. After February, sticks and branches must be bundled with twine. Fayette County residents can also take two pickup truck loads of waste every month to the Haley Pike Waste Management Facility Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Those who had missed trash carts last week should leave them on the curb until they’re emptied. The city says Waste Management will not enforce its ordinance requiring carts to be brought off the curb. They expect to be caught up with missed streets soon.
