FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- Women's Health Advantage announced as of Jan.1 they will be discontinuing their partnership with Parkview and no longer providing care at all Parkview hospitals.
In the announcement, posted on its website, Women's Health Advantage announced that as of Jan 1. 2025, they would withdraw OB (obstetrical) privileges and their GYN (gynecological) privileges effective Feb. 1, 2025, at all Parkview facilities.
After these dates, Women’s Health Advantage providers will no longer deliver babies or perform surgical services at any Parkview hospital.
The facility said the reason for the partnership ending was to, "reduce the number of locations at which we provide care was in the best interest of our patients, physicians and staff."
The release went on to say,
"Even though Women’s Health Advantage is one of the largest providers of comprehensive women’s health care in northeast Indiana, we are still proudly independent and physician-owned. As such, we made this decision to support our ability to recruit and retain physicians by managing call shifts and coverage capacity, and by improving our physicians’ ability to balance their personal and professional lives."
The women's healthcare facility has promised to assist anyone who will be affected by these changes.
WANE 15 reached out to Parkview for comment, but has yet to hear back.
