City of Springfield requesting blankets and warm clothing for those in need

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The City of Springfield is looking for donations of new blankets and warm clothing for those in need.
The city's Department of Health and Human Services has seen a rise in requests for blankets, winter hats, gloves, and scarves this winter for those in Springfield warming facilities. To help, Mayor Sarno and Health and Human Services (HHS) Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris are calling for the public's help to assist those in need.
Healey interested in revisiting shelter law intent
Clean, unused blankets and winter clothing can be dropped off Monday through Friday at the following locations:
Ray Jordan Senior Center - 1476 Roosevelt Ave from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Department of Health and Human Services - 311 State Street from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
City Hall (Room 001) - 36 Court Street from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
