NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A multi-million-dollar grant from the Federal Railroad Administration will go toward efforts to restore the Amtrak rail line between New Orleans and Mobile. Brews, Boils & Bubbles to return to New Orleans Lakefront for second year According to an announcement from Congressman Troy Carter, the $21 million grant comes from the FRA's Restoration and Enhancement Grant Program. Carter said the funds will be used for the operating costs of the line in its first three years of service with a goal of two daily roundtrips.
