Arrest made in Jan. 7 St. Roch deadly shooting

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department announced Monday, that an arrest was made in a recent homicide investigation.
According to the NOPD, On Jan. 7 at 12:10 p.m., officers responded to the St. Roch neighborhood at the corner of North Galvez Street and Elysian Fields Avenue on a reported shooting.

Responding officers arrived to find an unresponsive man, identified as 38-year-old Geron Elzie, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Through an investigation, detectives were able to identify 28-year-old Marvin Banks as the suspect in the shooting. He was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 11 and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on a charge of second-degree murder.
