Young adult teenager arrested in Wisconsin for carrying stolen handgun

MADISON, Wis. – A traffic stop early Monday morning led to the arrest of a young adult and a teenager after officers discovered a stolen handgun in their vehicle.
According to the Madison Police Department, officers conducted the stop near N. Ingersoll and E. Mifflin Streets just before 2:00 a.m. The individuals in the vehicle appeared to be attempting to hide something, prompting further investigation.

A stolen handgun was eventually found under the front passenger seat.
The driver, identified as 21-year-old Kevonta A. Williams of Fitchburg, was arrested on charges of obstructing, possession of a stolen firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon without a license.

The 17-year-old passenger, a Madison resident, faces charges of carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a stolen firearm (both as party to a crime), and obstructing.
A third passenger in the vehicle was not cited. The investigation remains ongoing.
