DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Deputies in Dorchester County are asking for the public's help to solve a string of recent car break-ins, the agency said. The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office is investigating the break-ins that occurred in the Southern Magnolia and Mallard Crossing neighborhoods, both of which are along Orangeburg Road, the office announced. The crimes happened in the early morning hours on Monday primarily to vehicles with doors unlocked. "Last night we had, in the southern magnolia neighborhood, and nearby neighborhoods, We had some vehicles that were broken into," Dorchester County Sheriff Sam Richardson said. "And it came from a majority of vehicles were unlocked doors. So, we believe we’re dealing with multiple suspects and we have some leads that we’re currently investigating, exploring those leads." Sheriff Richardson emphasized for citizens to lock their vehicle doors at night as this plays a role in many break-ins. The sheriff's office encourages anyone with information on the incidents or the suspects to contact their office at 843-873-5111. "Your assistance is crucial in helping us bring those responsible to justice," DCSO said.
