Three people, including a 4-year-old girl, were shot and wounded in Hegewisch on the Far Southeast Side Sunday afternoon, Chicago police said.A 23-year-old man and 20-year-old woman were in a residence in the 13400 block of South Carondolet Avenue at 5:25 p.m. when someone fired shots outside and they were hit, police said. The man was shot in his right side and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition.The woman was shot in her right shoulder and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition, and the 4-year-old was shot in her right leg and taken to the university's Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition.The neighborhood where the shooting occurred was quiet less than 24 hours after the attack. Three plainclothes detectives in an unmarked vehicle briefly stopped by the home. A 70-year-old man who lives near the building was having a family dinner for his wife's birthday when he heard the shots. The resident, who didn’t want to be named, said he heard about 15 shots and called 911. "It's a lot different than fireworks," he said. "We don’t want to move, but we can't live like this," the man said. No one is in custody.
