PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A Pittsfield man was arrested after allegedly hitting two people in the head with a firearm.

On Sunday at approximately 7:38 p.m., officers were sent to 10 Francis Ave, which is a multi-unit housing complex, for a report of someone with a firearm, according to Captain Matthew Hill of the Pittsfield Police Department.
When officers arrived, two people were found with facial injuries and reported that an altercation happened in the parking lot where a person, who was identified as 32-year-old Soloman Jones III of Pittsfield, left and ran into one of the apartments nearby. It is alleged that Jones pulled out a handgun on the victims and began to make threats. He hit both victims in the head with a firearm and kicked one of them while they were on the ground.
Officers found Jones inside the apartment and refused to leave. A standoff was held and Jones was ultimately placed under arrest. A firearm was seized inside the apartment. The victims were taken to Berkshire Medical Center where they received treatment for their injuries.
Soloman Jones III was charged with the following:
2 counts of Assault & Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon, to wit: a handgun
Assault & Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon, to wit: shod foot
Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon, to wit: a handgun
Threat to Commit Crime, to wit: murder
Carrying a Firearm without License
Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card
Improper Storage of a Firearm
