RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got stylish in the morning on Monday, as we heard all about men's fashion in Richmond from Darrian Hewlett, executive director and founder of Threaded. 8News Anchors Delaney Hall and Autumn Childress spoke with Hewlett about Threaded, as well as a few upcoming events. Hewlett explained that Threaded highlights men's fashion with events, runways and experiences in the Richmond area. To get a taste of all things men's fashion, Hewlett brought in two custom designs by designer and Threaded fashion director H. David Harrell of Dapper 7 to the studio, which were worn by male models. One look included a blue peacoat, while he other was a multi-color suit. For 2025, Hewitt said the Met Gala's theme is "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," bringing attention to Black men's fashion. He added that this goes hand in hand with Threaded's message and upcoming events. As for what's coming up, Hewlett said Threaded will host a model call for male models from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19. There will be two model scouts and a height requirement of 5'7. Afterward, Hewlett said there will be two pre-shows that will introduce the public to Threaded, followed by RVA Men's Fashion Week in the fall. To keep up with more events, visit Threaded's Instagram page.
