PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) -- A 29-year-old man is facing several charges, including attempted murder, after a stabbing incident in Portsmouth Sunday morning.
Portsmouth Police responded to a call in reference to a stabbing in the 1000 block of Frederick Boulevard at approximately 8:40 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from a stab wound that is not believed to be life-threatening. Medics took the victim to a local hospital.
Officers arrested Deaquan V. Johnson. He is currently in custody and is charged with attempted murder, malicious wounding and unlawful stabbing.
