New Orleans man wanted after allegedly killing friend in Chalmette

CHALMETTE, La. (WGNO) — The St. Bernard Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding a New Orleans man accused in a fatal shooting.
SBSO deputies report that on Sunday, Jan. 12 around 6:40 p.m., they were called to the scene of a shooting in the 500 block of East Solidell Street.

Responding deputies arrived to find a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.
Through an investigation, detectives identified 25-year-old Jermaine Cole Jr. as the suspected shooter and issued an arrest warrant for charges of second-degree murder and obstruction of justice.
Further investigation revealed the suspect and victim were acquaintances and that this was an isolated incident, according to deputies.

The crime remains under investigation.
