CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- After Poppy, the Metro Richmond Zoo's newest baby pygmy hippo became a viral sensation on social media, she and her mother are now on view each day through a livestream.
According to the zoo, the live cam of the pygmy hippos' indoor pool is available daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Outside of those hours, a highlight reel of other videos of Poppy will be displayed on the feed.
In addition to the real-time livestream, the feed will also include educational facts about pygmy hippos, including their behavior, diet and conservation needs.

The zoo added that pygmy hippos are nocturnal and spend most of their days resting in the water. At night, they leave the water to feed on land.
