ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - Colder air takes over today and lake-effect snow gets going east of the lakes. Expect snow showers to build through the Chautauqua ridge over to Wyoming County east of Lake Erie as well as east of Lake Ontario through into the Tug Hill Plateau. As far as Rochester goes, it will be tough to muster up any snow showers that accumulate. Bands generally remain northeast or southwest of the city. Temperatures will be down though as we fall into the 20s today. Both Tuesday and Wednesday are cold as numbers run in the teens and lower 20s. What happens next is still under question as we head toward the weekend. There is a big storm system that works toward the Northeast. This will bring some warmer air, a wintry mix by Friday, and snow over the weekend.
